I just got done throwing wedding showers...now on to the baby showers!

So this has been a pretty exciting month needless to say. First Atosha told me she was having a baby. I scared Preston half to death when I ran into the bathroom (where he was taking a shower) and screamed that she was pregnant.

Then, on our way home from church last Sunday I got a text message from Mom saying Jon and Renee Bonneau were pregnant...also screamed...Preston almost had a car accident.

But tonight Preston was ready. Brittany Gauntt, my newly married high school best friend and bridesmaid, called me after work. Preston could overhear her talking on the phone this time. I said something to the effect of "Hey, how are you? What's going on?" And she said something like "Well...I was just calling to let you know..." And Preston froze dead in his tracks and then she said "...I am going to have a baby!" And Preston grabbed his head and I screamed...again and a lot. Preston is shaking in his boots after this week...and my throat is killing me.

So I was just now getting used to the fact that all my friends were getting married. Now they're having babies!? That's going to take me a little bit longer to get used to. Weird.

Needless to say, I will not be following in Brittany's footsteps in the art of Natural Family Planning. No child should have to be born in Lubbock.

Hooray for Trey!

Today was a very exciting day! Everybody who reads this blog already knows that Trey was drafted to the Milwaukee Brewers this morning...SO exciting. Preston and I are so proud of him. I have bragged to just about everybody I know for the past month that Trey was going to be entering the draft. It is just so exciting that he has finally been picked!!!

I was at work this morning and had put my phone on as loud as it could ring in the back so I would hear it if it rang. Trey had told me the night before I could watch it online, but I am not really supposed to get online at work so I was avoiding that. After a while I couldn't stand it anymore and so I opened the MLB home page. By the time I figured out where to find the live draft, they were already on the 8th round! I looked at everybody drafted in the 8th round and couldn't believe Trey's name wasn't there...so I clicked on the 7th round and almost missed his name because I was looking for Trey Watten...not Steven Watten. Anyway, it was bittersweet because I was so excited but couldn't celebrate with everybody at home...one of the many drawbacks to living in Lubbock.

Anyway, Congratulations Trey! Preston is very excited about being your financial planner! ;) We can't wait to see you in the Major Leagues!!!

Happy Birthday Preston!

Preston's birthday was yesterday! He and I are officially 23 years old together for the next 6 months. I think I had just about as much fun on his birthday as he did. He is just so much fun to surprise because he never expects anything. On the morning of his birthday I wasn't feeling well and he told me I didn't need to do anything for him for his birthday. Sweet boy, but he doesn't know me very well yet...I already had a plan.

So I knew I wanted to get him Rock Band for his birthday ever since he and my uncle Hunt locked themselves in the downstairs basement of the house in Colorado just so they could spend quality time competing in Guitar Hero. Malena came into town last week and since she had a Sam's card, she let me use it to buy the game there for a less expensive price. We stored the game at a friend's house until Preston's birthday because we literally have no place to hide it in our apartment. Well, on the morning of his birthday I went to pick up the game and as I was shoving it into the trunk of my car I realized that I had bought the game for Playstation 3. Preston has Playstation 2. Luckily Sam's let me exchange the game, no problem. I picked up a cookie cake on my way home (Preston's favorite) and planned on setting up the drums and guitar so that he would walk in the door and see it when he came home from work (yeah he had to work on his birthday). But then my darling husband called to say he had switched shifts and was home early. No big deal. I improvised. I had his birthday card with me so I just put it on top of the game box in the back end of the car and told Preston I needed help getting some things out of the back of my car. His face was priceless. He did the whole "What?! What is....awww! Is that?" Yes, yes it is. Anyway, it's a good thing I didn't try to set that darn thing up myself because it would have taken me 5 hours.

I also had called Preston's friends Brandon and Jordan and they came into town and surprised him. We went to Ghatti's for dinner (also Preston's favorite) and then to Indiana Jones. So I think he had a good day.

Next milestone...our anniversary!

Here are a few pics of the boys rockin' out...
