Kiss Cam

Tonight we went to the Dallas Stars game with our good friends Aaron and Brittany Gauntt. Dad had tickets and asked if we would like to go and I hadn't been to a Stars game since high school so we accepted the offer gladly.

When we first arrived at our seats, Preston was on the end, then myself, then Aaron, then Brittany. Well then the girls decided we wanted to sit next to each other so Brittany and Preston switched which put the order at Brittany, then me, then Aaron, then Preston. This information will be important later.

Somewhere in the 1st period we decided to grab some food. Aaron got back to our seats first and Preston and I arrived soon after. Preston sat on one side of Aaron and I sat on the other but when Brittany came back she had a tray full of nachos and didn't think she'd be able to make it through all three of us to get to her seat so she just plopped down next to Preston temporarily. So now the order was me at the end, then Aaron, then Preston, then Brittany.

A few minutes after the start of the 2nd period they decided to do the Kiss Cam. If you are unfamiliar with this little game at sporting events, the cameramen pick out couples in the audience and they are supposed to kiss while on the Jumbo Tron. I have always thought it would be so fun to be on the Kiss Cam but have never actually been on before.

I leaned over and said jokingly "This could get awkward...maybe we should switch seats before we get put on camera sitting next to the wrong spouse." Before we could finish agreeing on what we were going to do if the camera actually did come to us, I glanced up to see myself and my best friend's husband on the Kiss Cam. Without a thought, Preston signaled for me to lean over Aaron to kiss him (Preston) and Aaron leaned behind Preston to kiss Brittany...the crowd erupted in laughter. They loved it! Of course, they had no idea we weren't sitting next to our correct significant others so who knows what they thought was going on but we were certainly celebrities for the rest of the night! Everybody kept trying to figure out who actually went with who. Oops. :)

Naturally, the only time I would ever get on the Kiss Cam would be when I am sitting next to the wrong spouse. Oh well...makes for a great story. Too bad we don't have video.

If I wasn't a celebrity...would you be so nice to me?

So today I learned how to do the cash register at work. About mid-day a lovely couple came to my register and I rang up their items very slowly and very carefully in order to avoid screwing up. After I had handed the wife her receipt and they had left the store the next man in line walked up with a smile on his face and said, "You know, I never know what to do around celebrities." I looked up confused and said, "What celebrity?" He smiled and said, "You just rang up Ian Kinsler and his wife!" Apparently I was SO careful ringing up the young couple that I failed to realize that the young gentleman in front of me was the 2nd baseman for the Texas Rangers! In fact, his wife had to hand me her id in order for me to check it with her credit card and I STILL didn't figure it out!

I figure he probably enjoyed being in a store where nobody recognized him but boy did I feel stupid. Cameron just about had a heart attack when I told him I didn't recognize a major league baseball player. :)

Glee

If you are not watching it you should. Oh. My. Gosh. It is AMAZING!!!

First of all, it's hilarious. Yes, it crosses the line and is completely inappropriate. No I would never let my kids watch it, but the characters are perfect and the music is unbelievable. Even if you don't want to watch the show you MUST watch to music scenes. This show makes me wish I had an amazing set of vocal cords. See for yourself:

The next two videos are from the same episode. To preface, the boy in the first video spends this episode trying to make his dad proud by trying out for kicker of the football team. To warm up before his tryout he dances to Single Ladies by Beyonce. At first the football players think he's nuts, but when he makes the field goal in his tryout, they decide dancing is a good way to loosen up.

Fast forward to 2:30 min. into this next video if you want to skip the inappropriate content I was talking about earlier.

It's on Fox Wednesday nights at 8pm or you can watch episodes here. Kristin Chenoweth guest starred last night (she played the good witch in Wicked on Broadway for a while) and did an incredible duet with the glee club adviser, Mr. Schuester, played by Matthew Morrison (I am told he is from Plano, TX).
