While celebrating Christmas in Austin, we visited the jewelry store where Preston bought my engagement ring because truthfully, it was trying to kill me (giving me a bleeding rash). Turns out it just needed to be cleaned, but it didn't need to be so dramatic about it. I decided to browse the ring case (just for fun) and a gorgeous white gold ring with a Morganite stone caught my eye. I asked a nearby employee if I could try it on (just for fun) and Preston immediately recognized him as the guy who sold him my engagement ring ELEVEN years ago! So while I'm gawking Preston nonchalantly says, "Let's get it." It was the Sweet Home Alabama moment I always dreamed of. Come to find out Preston had already been searching for a new ring for me for Christmas but hadn't had much luck. We placed a special order to have the ring made in gold with a diamond (since my engagement ring is already white gold) and Preston surprised me with it last night in a soy sauce dish at a sushi restaurant.
