I always thought if my work was ever published it would be in writing, not design. Guess the Lord is funny that way. My photographer friend, Erin Woolsey, was asked to submit the photos from the Rustic Rehearsal Dinner shoot I designed last year and lo and behold, we made it into a book about country and rustic designed weddings. Follow the link below to read about it on EBSR...

weather's wedding part 2
Here are
a few more professional pics from the Weathers' wedding from Jamie's
Facebook albums. Please note how sharp Preston looks in his J Hilburn
suit. :)
summer
To
celebrate America's birthday we watched Coppell's fireworks on the 3rd
and then spent the 4th with our entire extended family at my parents'
house. I posted pictures of our decor and my sister's awesome red, white
and blue spread on EBSR here but here are a few more from my phone...
At our usual spot at the Coppell parade...
Napping...
After dinner we stumbled upon the Four Day Weekend comedy club which ironically had just been recommended to me by a coworker that same day. We stopped in just in time for the 10pm show and they still had tickets. Now I realize improv comedy clubs are hit or miss depending on the night, but I've been to comedy clubs in Chicago and New York and Four Day Weekend was just as funny if not funnier! The cast was witty and interactive with the audience and after the show my face hurt from laughing so much!
The next weekend we went to a Rascal Flatts concert at the Gexa Energy Pavilion at Fair Park. We happened to run into my aunt and cousins on our way in...
We had lawn seats but were offered stadium seats since they weren't full. The girls decided to move but the guys were happy where they were.
And this is a terrible picture with my iPhone but if you look closely you can see a couple on our row decided to slow dance during the concert. I texted Preston to see if he wanted me to come back to the lawn so we could dance but he "didn't get my text". :)
Later we found out the guys had been asked my a nearby group of girls to join them on their blanket but the guys declined. We scolded them for being so rude. It takes guts to ask a guy something like that!
Last weekend we went took a family trip to Tyler since Morgan is a counselor at Pine Cove Timbers and my mom's birthday was Saturday. I have great memories of Tyler as a Pine Cove counselor but we sure ran into a lot of crazies on our trip! On our way into Pine Cove there was a two way road that was down to one lane due to construction. As a result the construction workers were leading cars both directions with a truck and each side was having to wait for the other to get through. While waiting for our turn we watched a lady scream at the poor guy holding the stop sign. First of all, if you're going to argue with someone, I'm pretty sure the stop sign guy doesn't have much clout. Furthermore, no amount of yelling is going to cause the construction workers to say "You know what, you're right. Everybody pack up; we're going home!" At least we were entertained while we waited.
Later on we were leaving the mall and were stopped behind two cars in the parking lot waiting for another car to pull out of a space. I still don't know why, but the woman two cars in front of us hopped out of her car enraged at the car directly in front of us. The person in the car in front of us opened their door to argue but then decided otherwise and got back in their car so that spat ended quickly.
Oh and did I mention the suspension on my mom's car is broken? Tyler is not that big of a city but after driving from the restaurant to the mall we were all nauseous. It felt like we were riding the Texas Giant but not in a good way. I could have sworn I broke my collar bone after hitting a speed bump in the parking lot.
We ordered dinner from Texas Roadhouse that night and while the boys were waiting for the food there was a UFC fight on at the bar. My brother nonchalantly asked who they thought was going to win and was answered by another guy at the bar with "Are you {expletive} kidding me?! I fought a UFC guy one time and had the {expletive} knocked out of me!" He then shared that this was his last dinner before going back to jail because he had recently violated his parole. The way he tells it, he was riding his motorcycle on the highway when a cop cut him off so he sped up and cut off the cop and the cop sped up and got in front of him again and he sped up again and cut off the cop and the cop pulled him over and gave him a DWI. "I wasn't even drinking!" He said. "I am drinking tonight though."
That afternoon we went to see the Dark Knight Rises. I am not a huge fan of superhero movies but I really enjoyed this one. On the other hand, I couldn't help feel anxious for the first half of the movie thinking about the Colorado Massacre. I am devastated for the families of the victims but I am so thankful to serve a God that is already shining light on the darkest of situations.
On a lighter note, on our way home we stopped at the Blueberry Hill Farm for fresh-picked blueberries, blueberry lemonade, blueberry cream pie, blueberry ice cream and a cherry turnover. We lucked out since it was their last weekend to be open for this summer. If you're ever in East Texas in the summer, you MUST stop here. Momo didn't get to go with us because she had to be back at camp but we took a family pic at camp before heading home...

In other news, Selma has decided she likes to sleep with one arm in the air.
I have no idea.
And I'll leave you with this picture of the pups asleep in our bed because although it is blurry, I was cracking up.

That Friday we were on our way to look for a new refrigerator after work (ours was on the fritz)
when I got a call from a friend asking if we wanted to spend the night
in a hotel that night. They had rented a room for a photo shoot during
the day but weren't going to use the room for the night so we whipped
the car around and headed home to pack our bags! An hour later we had
checked in to The Ashton Hotel, a precious boutique hotel that is one of two of the oldest buildings in Ft. Worth. We walked around Sundance Square until deciding to have dinner on the rooftop terrace at Reata.
We shared the Buffalo Rib Eye with Jalapeno and Cheddar Grits and Onion
Rings. Everything was delicious and the view was incredible. There was a
rehearsal dinner going on inside the dome on the roof so if you have a
party to plan anytime soon I highly recommend Reata!

The next night we went to a Frisco Rough Riders
game with Preston's coworkers. The Rough Riders are the minor league
team for the Rangers and their games are always enjoyable. They had a
fantastic fireworks show at the end of the night to commemorate the 4th.
